Welcome to the official website of the B.F. Rockafellow
Ecology Park. In 1995, after the closing of the Fremont County
landfill in 1993, the Caņon City High School Environmental Club, under
the Guidance of Linda Bennett, submitted a plan to develop the area into a
county park. After approval of the plan and hours of work, the
sponsors and club members have transformed a landfill into an educational
ecology park. Thanks to the industry of a very diligent, dedicated
group, you may now enjoy a landscape of flora and fauna native to Caņon
City.
